Insurance - I always look for Insurance that acts as Primary. Happy to give you a quote as sometimes I see it cheaper than the website. These are the companies that I've used in the past.

Cash - I always recommend taking at least $50 - $60 in $1 bills for tips
Credit Cards - Some cards require to place a travel alert
Passport - Double check the dates and happy to get a copy of them for the records in case you lose them
Cell - check if your place covers Mexico
Apps - make sure to download Hotel and Airlines apps
STEP - Enroll in STEP US Program - https://step.state.gov/step/

Some info about possible transportation from the Airport (based on 2 adults and 2 kids)
- Uber - depends on the time of the day but around $30 each way
- Vallarta Adventure - $210 each way
- Expedia - $277 round trip
- Amstar - $312 round trip
